JosefJackerson was born in 1936. He graduated from the School for Young Talents and Leningrad Academy of Fine Arts in 1960. During his studies, his works were exhibited at international exhibitions in France (1947), Germany (1958), and the World Youth Festival in Moscow (1956). Up to 1973, his works were displayed at a number of national (1960, 1965, 1971) exhibitions, as well as at various municipal and regional expositions.
In 1973, the painter immigrated to Israel. From that time on, his works were displayed at many personal and collective exhibitions in Israel, the USA, Russia, Switzerland, and Australia. Several noteworthy personal expositions are listed below:

In 1979, Jackerson‘s article Artist on Art was published in The 22 Magazine issues 7 and 8. Basing on extensive factual material, the artist suggests and constructs the cyclic development scenario of world art by recognizing internal regulations of art per se. The paper analyzes artist – art, artist – society interactions at various stages of artistic development and cites Jackerson‘s ideas and thoughts on the issue.
